Mountaineer Field at Milan Puskar Stadium is located at 1 Ira Errett Rodgers Drive, Morgantown, West Virginia 26505, on the health sciences campus of West Virginia University. The facility opened in 1980, replacing an earlier Mountaineer Field that could not accommodate expansion due to its site constraints. Construction of the current stadium cost $22 million and initially provided a seating capacity of 50,000. Expansions followed: in 1985, 7,500 seats were added to the south end zone for $6.5 million, and in 1986, 6,000 seats were incorporated in the north end zone for $650,000. A significant 2004 renovation removed north end zone seats to install luxury suites and club areas at a cost of $13 million, reducing capacity to 60,000 while enhancing revenue-generating features and accessibility. Additional updates in 2007 included corner seating additions and a turf replacement, with further field surface improvements in 2016 to eliminate the crown for better drainage using modern FieldTurf Revolution 2.5.
